How do populations prove that a country, is a good country?
The demography of a country is an extremely important factor when deciding the quality of a country. Changing populations can depict the amount of job opportunities and plots of land that are available. As well as it can determine the strength of an economy. Today, Canada can be proud of it's immigration history and how it has been keeping the economy as well as the population in balance. Although in the future, when the population of Canada begins to decline as the baby boomers die off or retire, the economy of Canada may suffer consequences.
One reason that Canada is considered one of the best countries to live in is because of our immigration history and how it is dealt with. Canada's main source of population comes from our immigrants which is why the topic of immigration is taken so seriously here. There are many different cases that our immigration systems have to deal with and I strongly believe that the Canadian government has developed excellent rules, and regulations that are broad enough to use for any kind of immigration case. Canada remains to treat their immigration cases with extra care to ensure that the hopeful immigrant will impose any threats to Canada if so, their immigration request is rejected immediately. There are many different cases that our immigration system has to face therefore, immigration cases are usually categorized by the following; family immigrants, refugees, landed immigrants and finally, Independent immigrants. All Independent working immigrants have to go through the, "Immigration point system," to determine whether or not the hopeful can come to Canada. The hopeful is marked based on their education, first official language, second official language, work experience, age, arranged employment in Canada and adaptability. The immigrant hopeful must score a total of at least 67 points in order to be accepted into Canada otherwise, their request will be rejected. I find that that this system works well because these, what I like to call, "criteria" are all good ways of knowing whether or not the immigrant can provide some sort of economic benefits for Canada. In my opinion each and everyone of the criteria used in the point system is significant towards whether or not the hopeful would benefit towards the Canadian economy. For example, if the person applying for an immigration to Canada had a poor English literacy level and has not yet completed their schooling or, will not complete their schooling would most likely not be able to get a job and provide any kind of benefits for Canada's economy. Other immigration cases which are quite common are family immigrants or refugees. These hopefuls do not require a point system test. this is because these people are seeking for a better quality of life. I think that the immigration history of Canada is one of the reasons that Canada is considered one of the best countries to live in. This is simply because Canada has been very responsible with their immigration system by establish reasonable regulations which recognizes the situation of the hopeful immigrant and the good of Canada. As for the future, Canada may have to be a little less of an option to be overly selective of their immigrants due to the declining population in the future. I believe that by twenty fifty the percentage of our population will rely more and more on immigrants causing the immigration system to become a less diligent with whom they let enter Canada.
It is arguable if canada will be a good counrtry to live in, in the future. I worry for canada's economy in the future do to the declining population. The growth rate of population is low because there are many people who refrain from having children. As the last baby boomers die off or retire, there will be less working people which may cause the economy to plummage. This is why we need to start finding ways to advertise canadian to alot more people so we can get more immigrants keeping a balence in our population while contributing to the economy. I greatly question whether canada would be the best place to live in the future or not Based on the declining populatinon and how that might affect me. I have realized that I would have to be more careful and really think about what kind of Occupation field I would go into. The declining population creates less of a choice for successful jobs. I do not think I should have to worry about being extra careful and specific while choosing the fields that I would like to get into in order to become successful, while living in a developed country like Canada. I think that inorder to maintain a strong economy in the future, Our government should develop campaigns and practices to encourage more aborigional people to continue their schooling so that they can get good jobs in the future. I say this becaue the aborignial population is has a growth rate of 45% while the non-native people living in canada have a current growth rate of only 8%. If we can encourage those living in the native reserves to continue their schooling and to find good jobs, I strongly believe that the canadian economy will remain as strong as it is, today. i do wonder if canada is truely a great country to live in considering the economic troubles they may face due to the declining population although, I strongly believe that if we take simple steps such as advertising immigration and encouraging schooling towards our aborignal people, we can ensure a stable economy in the future.
